Benefit 2025
May 20, 2025
Incorporating music into storytelling and celebrating musical artists have been key to Urban Stages’ innovation and success. For our 41st annual benefit, Urban Stages celebrated its musical legacy and the artists who continue to bring it all to life. We honored Joe Iconis with a Luminary Artist Award. Joe brought his musical ReWrite to Urban Stages in 2008 to critical acclaim, and has gone on to successes on Broadway and the West End. With Urban Stages’ Musical Artist Awards, we also celebrated Michael Colby (Librettist/lyricist, Winter Rhythms’ staple, and Vice President of Urban Stages’ Board of Directors), Sue Matsuki (an award-winning singer & songwriter, author, comedian, and more. Currently, she produces Winter Rhythms!) and Tom Toce (a NYC-based songwriter, former Winter Rhythms producer, and President of Urban Stages’ Board of Directors).
