PROGRAM
"Watching the production in August brought tears to my eyes," said proud parent Nancy Pelosi about "A Tale of Two Nations," the scintillating conclusion to Urban Stages' Summer Theatre Camp for teens and tweens. The annual camp will be in session again this summer from June 30th to August 1st at the Urban Stages Theatre at 259 West 30th Street in Manhattan. This five-week intensive professional theatre experience trains kids aged 11-14 in a variety of fun and challenging theatre arts skills, including mime, dance, movement, music, speech, acting, and playwriting. Professional artists and teachers from Broadway and Off-Broadway dedicate their time and energy to making sure these kids not only learn new skills but have a fun summer as well.

According to Artistic Director Frances Hill, "the program strives to help kids develop self-esteem, interact and relate with others, expand their ideas of what art is and can be, and build a lifelong love of the arts."

The camp will be comprised of three morning classes, a supervised lunch in a local park and then three more classes in the afternoon. In addition, there will be opportunities to see Broadway and Off Broadway productions.
